Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reuse,Reduce, Recycle

So many of us buy plastic water bottles, use paper towels and use plastic bags from the store when shopping. Instead use a refillable water bottle and if you buy a drink in a glass bottle reuse it for another drink rather than throw it out. Instead of using paper towels use reusable towels and napkins and wash them when done and let them air dry. Finally when shopping use reusable bags and if you find yourself having to use  plastic bags save them at home to use to pick up dog waste, as trash liner for small waste bins or reuse them the next time you go to the store rather than throwing them out. Or ask for a paper bag.
