Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carpooling With Friends
5 days out of the week and 260 days out of 365 day year you drive to school. On top of that, you drive to the doctors office, the movie theatre, the store, to get food, and almost anywhere you need to go. If you struggle to ride your bike or find other forms of transportation, you can carpool with others to reduce the amount of cars on the road. This will cause the CO2 emissions to drop because there are less vehicles producing it. Me and 4 of my friends used to take different cars to school, but when we started carpooling together, are combined transportation carbon footprints were divided by 4. So if together we had a 100kgs footprint, then after carpooling it dropped to 25. That is a significant difference and it was only four people. Imagine if you were to carpool with 5 or 6 people. Carpooling is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to lower your carbon footprint and worth giving a try.
I agree with you on this ! Driving is one of our main sources of transportation and everybody is constantly driving. If you're going out with friends, have a meeting point and drive together.
This is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint! If you don’t want to take the bus, offer to pick people up on your way to school. It may be somewhat of a hassle, but it is not only better for the environment, but a nice gesture to people in your community.
I agree with you, even taking an uber pool or riding a bike once in a while will help bring down your carbon foot.
Many people knowadays carpool very often without even realizing. Although, parents love it when their child gets a ride home or from practice, it is important to continue doing this, even when you can drive. Because a couple minutes out of the way, and sometimes even stopping on the way to your final destination can over time really make an impact. This can very well decrease your carbon footprint and better the environment.
Carpooling is such an effective strategy to reduce Co2 emissions. It may affect much at first, but say you carpool different times in a course of a year. This will eventually start to decrease the amount of your personal carbon footprint, and can help our world.
However, especially for people like me, who live in a rural area, it can be hard to find people that want to carpool or are going anywhere near where you are going at the time you want to go there.
