Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Name- Alexis Gerecke
Where I'm from-
City: Mooresville
State: North Carolina
Country: United States
Age: 14

i learned that my carbon footprint would probably be less than the average person in North Carolina because i don't go very far for vacations and i don't live too far from the school either. My total footprint is 14,523. The total footprint of the region is 15,918. To improve my carbon footprint i could start walking to school more often and only riding the bus a certain amount of days each week.Like

Its good that your total carbon footprint is less than the average in NC, and it would really make your footprint better if you do start walking to school more often and riding the bus only when you need to.

If you don't live far from stuff like the grocery store, a restaurant, etc. you should walk there

Thats really good and walking or riding your bike would make a huge difference for your carbon footprint

My carbon footprint was also near 14,000 but mainly because i don't go shopping a lot but i do travel every year for vacation.we have to take a lot of stops to get more gas.

Those sound like great preventatives to keep in mind because I also had high numbers for my transportation part of the Carbon Footprint.
