Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

How recycling can reduce our carbon footprint

123345

Reducing, re-using, and recycling may be one of the easiest ways to reduce your carbon footprint and the cheapest. Some may not think too much about it right away, but when you re-use something and get the most out of it as you can, then you will not be forcing companies to use more energy to create another product. Same goes for recycling, by re-using materials, then it takes then energy than it would if you started from scratch.

I agree, recycling can be a major factor in reducing your carbon footprint. This is something that can easily be better reinforced in schools, and towns overall. This is something that companies should pay more attention to when coming up with a product.

I agree. I think that reusing is a underrated way of helping the environment. Usually when I get a plastic bottle I just recycle it, but I think that reusing is a way that everyone can help out the environment. Even recycling help so reduce carbon footprint a lot so thinking of these things is something important when reducing carbon footprint.
