Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Carpooling, taking the bus, biking, or walking to school

Skye14

If you have friends that live close to you but your school is to far away to bike or walk to you should carpool it can save up to around 4x as much gas as if everyone went to school. If the bus comes to your stop at a good time this is a great opportunity to cut down on your footprint. Biking creates no emissions at all and so does walking. If you are close enough to school it can help you and the planet. Every little thing helps.

Not only is carpooling easy, but this small thing could have a big impact and hopefully further change the earth for the better. You would be saving the planet by not driving your own viecle thus creating more co2 which pollutes the air.

This is a great topic as many people carpool to school and love to spend time with their friends all the time, but what if you don't have friends close by? or your the only one in your town going to your school?
