Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Food Footprint

After taking the ISCFC survey I noticed I released about 1000 ppm more than the average person in the food category. I believe it is because I consume a large amount of meat. What food should I eat more of instead of meat?

I'm no vegetarian or vegan and a lot of my favorite foods have meat, but my dad's been vegan for probably around 20 years and I asked him what to eat. Eating soy products is better for the environment because it produces 13 times more fossil fuel to produce one pound of meat than one pound of soy. There are a bunch of recipes you can look up so you can make it taste more like meat.
