Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Home Emissions
Houses can emit as much as half of a person's CO2 emissions. While we might not be able to control how much we drive, we can instantly change things in our homes to become more energy efficient. Depending on the region that you live in, you could primarily use heat or AC in the most important rooms of the house, put on a jacket or sleep with extra blankets rather than crank up the heat, as well as take shorter showers only when you need one, turn off your wifi when you don't need it, and turn off unnecessary lights. Even if you question the extent of human contributions to global warming, these changes will still save you money because you will not consume as much fuel and electricity.
I agree with your thoughts, if we do those changes lots of houses would not use as much electricity and would not produce as much CO2.
I definately agree with this post. This seems like a much easier way to reduce our carbon footprint than by reducing transportation. Also one of the biggest things that contributed to our carbon footprint was heating our home. I think that a way to fix this is to use what we learned from our solar homes. If we made ourselves highly insulated energy efficient homes like the ones in our models. Then we would have to spend very little energy and money on heating our homes. These small things that you pointed out like turning off lights and WiFi when they’re not being used can be very beneficial in the long run and greatly reduce our carbon footprint. Those are just small changes that are easy to make which is an alternative to doing larger things like building energy efficient houses.
