Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Can I Make a difference in stoping Climate Change?

skillhuman15

Even though many people know what Climate change is and want to help change it they do not know how to. I believe that in order help slow down climate change you need to get out your ideas on Climate change, do not use so much fossil fuels like driving your car, not eating process food and throwing your food and trash in the right bids. What else can we do and even if we are doing this is it really working. Since due to the fact that huge companies with huge factories are doing the most damage. I know every little thing is helping but will it be enough?

Climate change is a big problem. I see it's effects in every day life(in the temperature and weather). I agree that we can use less fossil fuels to avoid progressing climate change. I do not believe that not eating processed food is a viable option for slowing climate change due to the fact that processed foods are much more affordable than regular foods.

I agree that most people know of and try to stop climate change, but they don't know how to be most effective in preventing climate change. Most people try not to use fossil fuels, but I can be hard to find an alternative to them. That's why I think that changing the car market to electric and more fuel-efficient cars will help a lot in the slowing of climate change.

I agree, most people know what Climate Change is and that we should be helping but they aren't fully educated in simple ways that they can help. If we all started doing simple things more often like carpooling when we know we are going to the same places as others closeby, taking bikes and walking to closer destinations, use LED light bulbs and reduce food waste etc we could stop climate change or at at least make more of a difference. If students were taught this more at a young age and we got this into the media and other forms of advertisement I believe it could really help.
