Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Home Grown

Growing food at home can help our worlds carbon footprint tremendously. Instead of buying fruits and vegetables that have to travel across country or even across the world, consider the benefits of growing your own food. Firstly, you would be limiting the amount of carbon produced by the transport of your food. All the trucks, trains, and boats that transport your food all are large CO2 producers. Though growing all of your own food at home is very unlikely, we can also consider buying locally. This would help decrease our Carbon Footprint as well as support our local community economically.
