Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My total footprint was 9,202. My footprint is below average. Most of my footprint came from food. Which was above average of my region. I was surprised when I saw my footprint for food. I didn't think that myself ate more than me region did. Ways I can decrease my footprint in the future is not eat so much and try to reduce my consumption.

My carbon footprint was also less than the average

Another possible idea to cut down on your food Footprint is to by organic products from local farmer markets and avoid foods with a lot of packaging.
