Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint and how I can decrease it

jrambo

After testing my carbon footprint on the calculator, I discovered that my total footprint is 12,053. Compared to my other classmates, this score isn't too bad. My score was largest in the home section, and I suppose that is due to the amount of energy I use. I could fix this by conserving my energy and turning lights and/or heaters off. My score was lowest in the purchases section, but that is solely because I am a simple person and I like to save my money rather than spend it on useless things. I'm rather content with my footprint because I've seen that it compares well with the others in my class.
