Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

da_queen137

My total footprint was 12,071kgs which is kinda good compared to the 15,918kgs for North Carolina. My home is 6,422kgs, Food is 4,431kgs, 532 kgs for the purchases and 686 for the Transportation. We don't do nothing around the house barely and we don't go on vacations at all. But my region for home and food was over what it was suppose to be but I'm good on purchases and transportation because it was a lot lower what it was suppose to be. But how can I make my home and foods decrease?

That's pretty crazy that you only have 686 for transportation, mine was much larger. To make your home and foods to decrease, you can make sure to cut off electronics when not using them, turn off lights when you leave a room, turn off the water when brushing your teeth, eat healthier, eat less meats, and eat locally grown food.

its good that you transportation isn't a lot, cutting off things could help out your carbon footprint .

You had a low transportation section which was wild to me. Mine was over 9000, but I do take my friends home a lot. Maybe start turning water off and using more efficient sources of power.
