Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My family footprint
What I found interesting about my family footprint was how much I travel for sports and how that increased my carbon footprint majorly. I do a lot of traveling for sports, I go to Sacramento and Fresno almost every weekend. Usually I carpool with a friend or they carpool with me to practice. If I carpool with a friend every time I go instead of driving separately, would that decrease my families Carbon footprint?
Yes, definitely. If you carpool with a friend, it will reduce your carbon footprint. Even though it takes time to drive from your house to your friend's, and it might increase your carbon footprint a little bit, it would still be better than 2 cars driving separately. I'm not sure about the traffics in your countries, but maybe it would be nice if you both can ride bicycles together. Not only you can exercise, but also reducing your carbon footprint to save our planet. Another method is that you can practice with your friend in a place nearer to your home town if possible, or you can go about only 2 times per month. I'm not saying that you can't, so it's up to you to decide. My transportation footprint is also the major contribution for my carbon footprint. I travel from Vungtau to Ho Chi Minh city more than 2 times per month. Maybe less or more, it depends, because my family owns more than 6 cars, so I can literally go any time I want to. I also go to school by car every day. I sometimes travel by motorbikes. Every year, I at least go by plane once for a holiday over seas. Now if you say that I should ride a bicycle or walk, I don't think I can, because the traffic here is just dangerous and it will take too long to walk. Anyway, good luck on your training and try to continue to reduce your carbon footprint to save our planet!
If you get a ride with your friend(s) to practice that will reduce your carbon footprint which helps you, your family and everyone else.
Mine is low because I don't travel that much. I think carpooling should help your footprint go down a lot.
