Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint

Jemmert5

My carbon footprint is 16,156 kgs, 5,434 kgs in transportation, 5,399 kgs in home, 4,848 kgs food, and 475 kgs in purchase. My footprint is really high and I have been trying to reduce my transportation by walking to and from school and reduce my home by turning of things when not using them. If you know any way that I could reduce my carbon footprint please tell me.

I think that you should start eating things that are more healthy or eating less and  start doing things that would reduce your transportation such as walking.

A good way to reduce your carbon footprint has a lot to do with things you're already doing, such as walking to school. You could focus more on what you eat, how much you eat and where your food comes from.

You could drive a more efficient car and turn off lights as a start. Just doing those simple things can majorly reduce your carbon footprint.

you should eat more healthy and eat more locally grown food and reduce your transportation to walking and biking instead of using a car.

It's great that you are trying to reduce your carbon footprint. Some other ways you could do this is eat less meat, or reduce your purchasing. If you still buy the same amount of clothes, you could instead take hand-me-downs or go to thrift stores for some of your clothes.

Maybe you could take shorter showers or something like that. It is great that you are trying to lower it though.

Gnadiak

eating more healthy foods and shorter showers could help your carbon footprint .
