Food Waste
Food waste is an extreme problem in the world and a huge problem in the US. It is estimated that between 35-40% of food is wasted in the US. In 2015 this translated into 133 billion pounds and approximately $161 billion worth of food waste. Not only is food waste ruining the environment, it is also wasting a lot of money. We need to start buying and taking only as much as we need and if you have food waste, compost.
That is a lot of money that is wasted on food, we could be using that money on other things besides food.
