Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Total= 8211 KGS it was way below the average. The majority of my footprints came from Food.
I thought my transportation was going to be the highest. I was surprised my results were low because I thought they were going to be higher than the region. I learned that when I eat takeout I use transportation to get there. I keep my car running as we wait for them to hand us food in a box with cups.
Quit going out to eat as much as I do and eat at home so we can save gas for the car to travel places.

very good and yes I agree that we should reduce the amount of gas we waste doing activities like this.

I think that it is a good idea to cut out two things at once. While cutting down on food you can cut down on transportation. My family also eats out a lot because we get home late.

Your carbon footprint was pretty low. Decreasing the amount you go out to eat could definitely decrease your carbon footprint.
