Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Hi, I'm Marina and I'm from Spain
My footprint is 11,025kgs, it's because this year I travelled twice in plane but I don't travel very often. I tavel by car a lot hours because my family are so far but I don't make anything for it.
I try to save everything which I can because I worry about how life on our planet could be end
Mine is over 83,000 because I took 6 plane trips which was 12 hours each
My carbon foot print is 24,153.
Hi Marina - you said you "try to save everything" - can you give us examples?
Hi, Marina! My carbon footprint is 11,029... I traveled 3 times in the year... so it is higher! I travel by car to lots of places, like school, friends houses, and etc. And it is great to meet another Marina!!
Our carbon footprint was very similar, I had an average of 11,028. I think the difference is that I do travel much more often, but by car and not plane like you did. I also agree with your comment about trying to recycle and save as much as possible, so that's why I think our footprint was so similar.
Hi Marina! My carbon footprint was slightly high as well. I think we both need to think about what we do in our daily life and how much we are emitting.
You do a really good job at keeping you carbon footprint down great job, i wish mine was as low as yours, i think if we all took these precautions we'd all be really well off
i sometimes think about when are world is going to end also but i always remember that if you do better about recycling and saving power an really taking in this footprint project we could all make a difference and are generation could be the ones to save our world from pollution.
It's really great that you try to save as much as you can, I think more people should try to do that because it would be better for the environment overall. I also think about what the world would look like when it ended and right now I could picture everything just being gone. What do you picture it as?
My carbon footprint is a little higher than yours. I also have to take a car to get from place to place. I am also trying to save more than I usually do. Great Job.
My carbon footprint was a little lower than yours because we don't travel as much in a car
I think it is very good to try and save electricity and not travel as much, but your's is a little higher than usual, but if your trying to save electricity it is very good. Just make sure your going to recycle, and save as much power that you can save .
My footprint is just a little bit higher than yours! i think that it is amazing that you try to save as much as you do.
That is really cool how you went on two trips by plane. I've never taken a plane to go on a trip. For you to have taken two trips by plane your footprint is still really good. It is 3,000 more than my footprint.
My Carbon footprint was higher than your i guess because i always turn on the light at home and i waste a lot of water.
My footprint is almost twice the size as yours. I don't travel on planes that much like you. Most of my family lives near me so i don't travel in a car that much. Great job though on not using that much carbon!
I'm not sure what the average number for a 174.7506 sq meter home in North Carolina.
you shouldn't worry much about your carbon footprint this year because of those two plane trips it'll be lower by next year
My total average was very similar to yours because I don't usually travel through plane because i travel by car.
My total average is smaller than you, probably because I don't typically travel in planes (I've actually never been in a plane) and I don't go on trips much so I don't travel much in general.
You have a good carbon footprint and you should just maintain it.
I don't travel that much but I understand how far away your family is. Your carbon footprint is good.
Yours is good apart from mine still, I feel like some people have a lot more than me, some don't. I also feel like I'm in the middle.
You're carbon footprint is really good compared to mine, which is over 30,000 kgs. My problem is that I travel constantly year-round so my transportation took up more the 3/4 of my footprint I don't really travel for vacations, but instead for seeing family and my club travel soccer team. It obviously causes my family and I to drive many miles a year. But I agree with the other replies that you have a pretty decent carbon footprint and it would be good to just maintain it at this point.
I think you have a pretty good carbon footprint. There are a lot of people in the world who leave a much larger footprint, so I don't think you are doing anything wrong.
Carbon footprint looks very good just stay like that, your in a healthy condition.
Planes take up a a lot of carbon so I'm surprised you only used 11,025 a year. Life on our planet won't end soon. My carbon is 3 times yours and around 33,000.
Your carbon footprint is pretty low, so I don't think you should do anything except keep doing what you're already doing. Mine was much higher with 17,391 kgs. My transportation carried most of my footprint, just like yours did.
Traveling on planes produces a lot of carbon, that's shocking. I have never been on a plane and mine is 10,000. Maybe Spain is doing something right.
Planes do cause a lot of carbon to get into the atmosphere. But, I don't think your carbon footprint is pretty low compared to some people.
