Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My Carbon Footprint

emcrald

My carbon footprint was overall 15,428 which is lower than the average which is 15,918. My transportation was 10,871 mostly due to the fact I just got my permit and drive legit everywhere for everyone, so that wasn't much of a surprise. I learned even if I'm vegetarian, my carbon footprint is still going to be high. I plan to cut down on driving and learn when I buy my own car soon, it'll be good on mileage.

Bwood2

i think you could reduce your transportation to only using a bike or walking or public transportation .

tylerbentivegna

I think that you have a good plan to reduce your footprint. Driving is fine and all, but once you cut down on where you're going, get your own car, and only drive yourself, your number should be significantly reduced.

Gnadiak

if you were to cut down on driving it could help a lot .

eli_b

Cut down on emissions or get a more fuel efficient car maybe.

gageday

when you do get a car get one thats good on mileage

Blakelym

I agree cutting down the driving will benefit and change your data .

morgane1

Cutting down on driving and having a car that is good on milage will help a lot, but biking and walking will also help.

johnnymen123

I agree, cutting down the driving will definitley change your results.

Arisdelci

Just try to use your car properly or wisely

nullface

Even though your driving everywhere, try not to use your car too much and it's good to be vegetarian.

cpookster04

that is surprising that not only driving is bad, but so is the milage!

davidbt05

I agree with arisdelci(USA mooresvile)! Just use your car properly and it will be fine

bal_gfstonge

To cut down on the transportation part of the carbon footprint, I would recommend saving up for a hybrid car. They have good gas mileage and saves on gas. The only problem is that I don’t know how much a hybrid car costs these days

CooperB

My footprint is very small
