The biggest problem I face daily is the fact that I live about 10-12 km away from my school and the city. My parents drive me to school every morning and pick me up after school. And if I want to hang out with my friends in the evening they need to drive me again. I have a bus that I could use to go to school with, but my parents go to work everyday anyways so it doesn't make a diffrence. Since this is the last week of school in Croatia I am really thinking about using my bike more. It is beneficial for both, myself and the environment.

I agree with you iva_zzzz, I have your same problem. Since elementary school my parents have always driven me to school that was 10km away from my home, every morning and the pick me up in the afternoon.
Now that I am attending High School I drive myself to school that is closer, only 5km away from my home but I did not reduce CO2 emission because I have a little sister and my parents currently drive her to elementary school. I reduced my CO2 emission but if we look at the general CO2 emission of my family it has increased.
Speaking of hanging out with friends, sports and other activities I have the same problem here too, I always take the car or the scooter to go out because the activities and the main city are too far from my home and yes there are buses but like 2/3 in a day and it is really difficult to combine my business and bus timetables.
I hope in a future to live in a big city where I can go everywhere (work, friends, sports..)  by foot and reduce my CO2 emission in transportation.
