Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Global warming and greenhouse effect

Lia_d_21

The pollution that we create with our activities (like industrial emissions, deforestation and use of fossil fuels) goes in the earth, in the water and in the air, but, most important, it goes in the atmosphere, filling it up with greenhouse gases. Those gases trap the heat, which is produced by the sun rays that warm up the surface of the planet, and keep it inside the atmosphere increasing the global warming.
I don't know if there's a way to turn back and lower the global temperature, but I'll keep on fighting for our planet and for the future generations.
As Lord Baden-Powell said : "Leave this world a little better than you found it."
