Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Transportation
So.. I calculated my carboon footprint and the thing that had the bigger impact was the transportation. I go almost everyday to school by car -because my father goes to work and it is on the road- and I know I could go walking or so on but airplane and train trips are significant. Which is the best way to travel?
According to me it is better to travel by train because I think that you have a smaller impact on the environment.
For me the best way to travel is by plane, even if it pollutes a lot. But to go to school I always take the train and I feel very good.
You’re right, one of the biggest problem is transport. I go to school walking every morning and I prefer to walk than drive a car or a motorcycle. I find it’s a way to stay in shape, but oviously to do the shopping or go to distant places I always use a car. I wish I had an electric one, but it's too expensive.
In my carbon footprint challenge the travels rapresent a large part of the CO2 that I produce. I think the value is high because last summer I travelled to Africa and England with ariplanes, but what alternative do I had?
Personally, I think it's right to try to use public transport or walk when you can, but I would never want to give up travelling.
I belive that all the international travels will continue to be an important factor for the carbon footprint.
In conclusion I think that the pollution of airplanes couldn't be avoided, but if everyday we walk and use public transport for go to school or work il would be better.
