Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint total was 8,523kgs. In my region, the average is 15,918, so I had a very low carbon footprint in relation to my region. The majority of my footprint came from transportation. I was surprised because I thought that I drove a lot but it turns out that I don’t drive as much as others. I learned that I don’t contribute a lot to the carbon in the air and I should keep it at this rate and/or lower it. In the future, I am going to be more thoughtful of my actions. For instance, I’m going to wash larger loads of laundry at a time, I’m also going to take shorter showers. In addition, I’m going to try carpooling more often and also try to walk or bike short distances instead of driving.
