Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Recycle

ilikessleep

We are putting to much recyclables into the trash cans, things like aluminum and plastic should always be recycled. We should also make sure that when you do recycle something you clean it before putting it in the recycling bin. We also need to do a better job at making sure that the things that we do recycle are actually supposed to be recycled. This means that your food is not supposed to be put into the recycle bin.

I think that public education about the recycling issue would help with the recycling problem. We really give no education about how to properly recycle at the moment, so people are left wondering what they can and cannot recycle, and how to prepare the recycled goods.

I agree with this this because properly recycling is something everyone can easily do. If we just make sure we clean our recycling and put it in the right bins we can help our carbon footprint. Also, now a lot of schools are teaching about recycling which is good progress.
