Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Conservation

As a community, we must conserve more. This includes conserving energy. We waste so much energy on a daily basis. Between leaving the lights on for long periods of time to forgetting to turn the TV off before going to bed. These are just a few examples of how we waste energy. If we conserve this energy, we will make the environment a healthier place and prevent climate change.

I agree with this because the only way we can help decrease the amount of carbon produced daily is by monitoring our energy use. not using incandescent lights can help bring down your carbon footprint because they are known to produce more carbon than LED and Fluorescent lights. Unplugging electronics can help reduce carbon by reducing energy usage.
