Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Making Changes
When I used the carbon footprint calculator I found that the largest area that needs improvement is my home. There are multiple ways we can improve our home efficiency. Some of these ways are actually very simple and will actually save up money so I'm not sure why we don't do them. The biggest one at least in my house is that we turn our heat on so early in the year. If we would just wear hoodies around our house we could not have the heat on in October and it would save us money. Along with this if we didn't turn on the heat we would be using less energy and producing fewer greenhouse gases. This is a change that I will try to implement in our house to at least wait until November or December to turn on the heat.
