Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

I'm Claire and 15 years old, When I calculated my carbon footprint most of my numbers where about average:
Trans: 2,619
Home: 4,129
Food: 2,200
Pur: 571
I was surprised that most of my carbon footprint was at home. I might have to use things a little different in home now just because my carbon footprint is so high. My second highest is my transportation because we are always going somewhere. I might need to stop going places as much or get everything I need the first time I go.

I love how your food number is so high, because we literally go out and buy food all the time, shows you how much we love food.

Maybe you should try to walk or ride a bike to places that are close to your house. My highest was my home cause IM usually there.

Go ahead do what Alyssa says and ride a bike or walk more that would help allot

Your averages are very low. But I guess that is a good thing

That is a problem,  but I guess you're using too much on your cooling and heating systems in your home, try surviving without cooling during summer,  or putting warmer clothes on you during winter and reduce using energy to heat the house,  you will get used to it quickly.
