Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Lights Out, It's Time To Disconnect!
Based off of my personal experience the highest contributor to my carbon footprint was home appliances and energy. I think the problem why that was such a major contributor was because I was being wasteful. Most days, in the morning ,I would leave the water running while I am brushing my teeth. I would also leave my laptop plugged into the outlet all night. I made a change because I thought of all the homeless people that live in our state. 134,000 people of our state (California) that are homeless and they do not have electricity and clean running water ,things that we take advantage of everyday. I think we should all disconnect from our appliances in order to make our atmosphere a better place for ourselves and our future.
I think that bad energy usage is usually the highest contributor to most people's carbon footprint because we use daily appliances so often that we don't stop to think about their repercussions. If everyone in the world turned off their lights when they are not using it, or the natural light is going through the windows, then problems surrounding the increase of carbon levels would decrease and level out.
I definitely agree with you. On this website (https://www.postconsumers.com/2013/04/0 … footprint/) it says that the United states has the second largest carbon dioxide emissions. This undeniable fact will definitely have a large affect on the generations to come ,if we do not do something to prevent it.
