Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

My carbon footprint (Fatima) -Guatemala

fatimapizzillo

I was upset about how much of carbon I use daily. I did not realize how much it was until I saw the results and the questions in detail. After the questions, I saw the big amount of carbon we use daily. I would like to reduce the amount of carbon footprint. I will start to safe more light and water. When I am not using it, to turn it off immediately. Small changes matter and, with a small start there is change. The more we try to help, the better it is for the environment in Guatemala.

I agree. I think that often times leaving things running or leaving things on can definitely cause the carbon levels to be higher. But what would be the bet way to help remind ourselves that we have to do that?
