Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Plastic is not fantastic
We must save the Earth because we need the Earth. We are trying to help the Earth everyday. Our teacher is helping us to tell others that environment is important.
What a great teacher❤️
❤️❤️❤️
Yes!!!
Lets save the Earth together!!!!
☺
Helping Earth, we help us .
I agree I think that people create even more problems because plastic doesn’t break down or decompose it just gets smaller and smaller and turns into smaller micro plastics. It just stays floating around in our oceans or on land and takes up space and creates more problems as I said previously most plastic ends up in landfills and begins to create plastic islands which is very bad for our oceans and the sea creatures. I think that more recycling is in order and trying to reduce the amount of plastic that we as humans use.
I agree because I think plastic creates a lot of problems in the environment. Plastic is bad for the environment because it does not decompose. It also does not break down, which causes it to stay in a place for a while. Plastic also creates islands in the oceans which disrupts marine life. If people used less plastic the environment would be a lot better and marine life would thrive.
Plastic is a terrible thing when just left on the ground. There is so much plastic left throughout the ocean that is destroying our earth. This complete lack of respect and attention to our world through this use of plastic can destroy our entire sea.
I agree
I learned that plastic pollution is especially hard on organisms that are already fighting for their lives as they struggle to adapt to a changing climate. This is one more reason that single-use plastics are a poor choice and much of the plastic packaging on prepared foods are a poor choice. We should be trying to limit ourselves to washable and/or reusable materials instead. What the fossil fuel is up with all the plastic consumption everywhere in America? You find plastic trash everywhere you go, it seems.
i agree because i think plastic is tossic for a lot of animals, we can use glass bottles or alluminum bottles instead of plastic bottles.
we can use cotton bags instead of plastic bags to save the ocean, or biodegradable bags.
To add on, much of the plastic we use is used only once. For example, snack sized chip bags are opened, eaten from for maybe 5 minutes, and thrown away. We rarely stop to think about the harm it is causes to our earth. The Earth Day Network posted a fact sheet about single use plastic. I was astounded when I read, "Single-use-plastics frequently do not make it to a landfill or are recycled. A full 32% of the 78 million tons of plastic packaging produced annually is left to flow into our oceans; the equivalent of pouring one garbage truck of plastic into the ocean every minute. This is expected to increase to two per minute by 2030 and four per minute by 2050. By 2050, this could mean there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans." (Fact #8) This is a major problem, but we can begin to fix it by taking small steps. As @tinaaaa3 commented above, we can use reusable water bottles and reusable grocery bags. Additionally, we can buy goods in bulk (not individually packaged) and make sure that we sort plastics into recycling, trash, and possibly compost bins appro priately. However, even plastics that are sent to the landfill can do considerable damage. According to Columbia University's Earth Institute: State of the Planet blog, plastics in landfills take approximately 500 years to degrade and could leak toxic pollutants into soil and water. We need to work together as a community to decrease our plastic consumption and take care of our earth.

I agree. Plastic has replaced many reusable products as the number 1 packaging material, and it can only be used once. We can use a plastic bag from when we pack our groceries to when we take it out of the bag is only about 15 minutes. Then those bags make its way to the ocean, where it severely harms the wildlife and washes up on foreign shores.
I agree that we can save the earth by producing less plastic. Because plastic doesn't break down or decompose as quickly, it gets stuck in nature and pollutes the ocean. It simply gets smaller and smaller until we can no longer take it out. It stays in the ocean for years and years. Additionally, plastic pollutes the health of our sea life, causing choking hazards and killing our ocean friends. If we as humans used less plastic as a whole, we could make the ocean more pure and help keep our fish healthy.
