Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Donate and Thrift Old Clothes
There are many reasons to donate clothes for one, according to the EPA, it costs $45 on average per ton to dispose of waste in a landfill. Clothing, especially 100% cotton, clothing that sits in landfill releases toxic greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane into the environment when they break down. Making new clothes takes hundreds of gallons of water, and the production of new textiles accounts for 10% of all carbon emissions on the planet. If we donate our clothing we can help stop methane and carbon going into the atmosphere when it can be avoided. Also, we can help stop unnecessary clothing production. (Also, you are going to be helping somebody in need!)
