Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Use a Reusable Water Bottle!
As of right now, the U.S uses over 17 billion barrels of oil to produce over 50 billion disposable plastic water bottles. The fast-growing "trash island" in the middle of the Pacific ocean is mainly composed of plastic water bottles. Only 1 out of 5 of these bottles are properly recycled according to the EPA. When you use a reusable water bottle you can help to slowly reduce this super environmentally damaging industry. Using a reusable water bottle is cheaper than not because you can reuse it as many times as you want, and you won't have to buy a new water bottle every time you are thirsty. Think of all the plastic you can save!
