Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

What is a Carbon Footprint?
the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon compounds emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels by a particular person, group, etc.
How do you save energy? I save energy in multiple ways, including carpooling to school which makes sure less CO2 gets in the air. Also I use multiple solar panel systems as a different energy source. This is very important because solar energy is on the rise and it can really improve the environment. I read an article about sun panels on sunpower.com and they said that solar panels are a great replacement for fossil fuels and they are able to harness and convert the sun's energy.
Solar energy could be a very efficient method of reduction of carbon footprint, due to the fact that primary sources of energy such as coal or other fossil fuels are major producers of carbon dioxide, which is released through the burning of the fuels. After all, every year, 28 billion tons of carbon dioxide is released in the generation of energy throughout the world, which, through its replacement in solar panels, could definitely contribute to maintaining the environment.
