Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Reduction of emissions in transport
A possible way to greatly reduce the amount of carbon emissions we create is to use public transportation and vehicles such as bikes, which emit no carbon dioxide. According to treehugger.com, carbon emissions from taking public transportation can, in large enough numbers, reduce carbon emissions by around 5000 pounds per year. In addition, private transports, such as SUV's, emit around 0.96 pounds of CO2 per trip on average, whereas more public transport, such as buses or rail trains, take up around half of that amount. In addition, according to streets.mn, cars release over 20 times the amount of carbon emissions in grams compared to bikes.
I completely agree with the changing of public transportation to use less carbon emissions. The only problem is that the transportation would not be as efficient and would not be very good for the people that rely on quick transportation.
