Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Plastic is Pollution

aichelea22

A main struggle for humans on planet earth right now is our usage of plastic. Yes, we are going to need plastic in our lives... but do we need that much of plastic? Everyday? 24/7? Cutting down on our use of plastic can really help out our earth and the carbon leading into our beautiful atmosphere. We can use metal straws instead, wood, and other things instead of plastic. And yes, we can still use plastic, but we can help cut down on it as a way of saving out planet earth's atmosphere

I agree with this, too much plastic hurts our animals and yes therefore can hurt an ecosystem. Ruining ecosystems can definitely impact the environment in a negative way and cutting down on plastic can really help stop this issue. Often, plastics are burned in the open air. This leads to air pollution because poisonous chemicals are released into the atmosphere during combustion. Plus, when animals or humans inhale the polluted air it can affect their general well-being and cause respiratory disorders
