Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Transportation
Living in Maine its difficult to lower your carbon footprint related to transportation. You could try to ride a bike or walk but most people live far away from where they need to get to especially work, school, and sports. If you try and carpool it could lower your carbon footprint and anybody you are carpooling with.
I agree that your location makes it harder to lower your transportation emissions. The only real solution is to buy a car with a lower mpg. This solution isn’t ideal because not a lot of people can buy a new car.
I agree that living in Maine is harder to reduce your carbon footprint. But there are some things that you can do living in a rural area like Maine. For example, you can try to eat all local or from home, for example, have a garden and get vegetables from there. Also, you can try and always carpool and ride buses, and if you do drive try to switch to electric vehicles. Furthermore, there are many more things you can do to reduce your footprint if you're living in a rural area.
I can agree with the you saying that cars are not the only way to get places and using other ways of transportation would reduce the carbon footprint. I think that also getting rides from other people or using local buses would reduce the footprint even more while still getting to a desired location in the same amount of time.
I definitely agree with what you are saying because there is no public transportation besides the school buses. There are also no railway or any way to get to work besides driving yourself. I liked what you said about carpooling because that would reduce our carbon footprint a lot. If everyone did that we could almost cut our transportation carbon footprint in half.
