Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

The Way Climate Change Effects the Earth

quentindbod4nm

According to a study done by NASA(National Aeronautics and Space Administration); human development and industrialization have caused the global temperature to rise by 1.9 degrees Fahrenheit since 1980, the polar ice caps to melt by a staggering 413 gigatonnes per year, and the global sea level to rise by 3.3cm per year. Although this number may not seem dangerous or otherwise concerning, it is important to keep in mind that as a result of human practices, the sea level has risen 3.3cm around the world.
