Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Electronic polluting environment
In the 21st century it is perfectly normal for people to use electric energy. The problem is that we are using it way too much. People are only aware of how much electric energy they have wasted after receiving bills, but even after that, they do not realize the damage they have caused to the environment.
It is true that LED lamps, television or computers barely pollute environment, but the power plants that produce electric energy are damaging environment heavily. They produce over 700 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide and over 25 thousand tonnes of other gases that are damaging the atmosphere.
Therefore, we must be careful about the way we are using electric energy. We should turn off the lights and gadgets when we are not using them. That way the power plant will have to produce less electric energy as well as greenhouse gases. Doing so we can help saving the Earth only by being a little bit more careful.
