Most of us aren't aware of this pollution but it exists. It comes from using public illumination where it isn't needed and because the light isn't shielded enough. As future presidents and lawbringers we should reduce the usage of public illumination. There are some laws about it allready but so little people have heard of it that even our goverments don't respect these boundaries. So let us be the ones to fix it since it disrupts ecosystems and slows down the progress in astronomical reasarches. Not to mention how badly it affects our health and how huge energy waste it is,  therefore is a flaw in our plan to make the planet sustainable.

This problem needs to be more socially recognised. By spreading the word of it, every city will start to turn down the lights to its needs, shortly after that you have a small change which translates to a bigger result. Small things make a difference, we just have to start somewhere!

I couldn't agree more,  although the problem is that the media which is more reckognized to most of the people isn't that muvh available to us. So the problem is how to get the television companies to get this all over the TV programmes,  as it is probably the only way to put our leaders under enough pressure for them to make a change. I think reaching out to some celebrities would be the best thing to do in modern world.

there is an organization called the International Dark Sky Association that has certified a handful of towns around the world that have reduced their light pollution.
