Student Footprints

Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.

Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?

Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Acid rains

bobekcro

Acid rains are destroying forests and other plants. They give big damage to agriculture and reduce amount of our food. The biggest cause of acid rains is CO2 from cars. Problem is people going to job by car but in car is only one person. The better choice is public transport like train. Train  release CO2 like 10 cars but train transport 400-500 humans at the same time. It is better than 500 cars. Everyday we need to care about nature because we need nature but nature doesn't need us.

I agree with your statement because the amount of cars on the road right now is too much to maintain a healthy environment. I think it should be more common to take public transportation instead of using cars. Cars are more convenient, but in the grand scheme of things, the world's health is a lot bigger of a problem than getting to work.
