Students from around the world calculated their class mean and standard deviations for their footprints and posted them on our world map.
Do you see differences across the globe? If so, why do you think those differences exist?
Did you use the calculator to try to reduce your footprint down to the average from a citizen of another country? What changes would you have to make to lower your footprint in this way? Are you going to try and take some of these actions in your daily life?

Ocean Acidification
The problem of carbon dioxide from pollution dissolving into the ocean is a very real and very pressing problem. If nothing is done to counter-act the damage already being done the animals that rely on certain types of minerals that are negated in the water by our pollution
I agree, it is really sad that we are hurting other species by living mindlessly of our huge carbon footprints. It is necessary that we take option for not only our sakes but for the sake of all the animals that don't have a voice.
I think that carbon dioxide being polluted is a big deal, especially when it gets dissolved into the ocean. Carbon dioxide in the ocean is damaging to sea life, as it causes so many problems. Carbon dioxide increases the acidity in the ocean. The acidity in the ocean definitely affects sea life because the acid in the ocean can dissolve things like shells. If nothing is done about this, sea animals will suffer.
I think that’s really sad but such a true thing that we are living right now. And I also think that this problem can be solved, but money runs this world, and people look for their money to grow, but never for the environment. And because of that, the world that our parents, grandparents, etc are leaving us, will be an Earth without 50% of animal and plants species that we know, 25% of forests less, a huge population, and probably no food and no water to drink. That’s why we gotta do something right now, cause acidification of sea comes from all that, from people that use the earth as a way to get money, and because of that, the ocean acidificates and coral and all the species that live there disappear with it too. And we don’t have to let it happen! If we want, we can do it, and I’m sure we, the young people, the new era of humans, will do our best!
