Wants or Needs?

Is having the latest technology a want or a need?

How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

What difference can we all make?

One thing that I know lots of people would say is the cause of climate change would be technology. After reading posts about it, learning the impact its making on the earth, people often say they can commit to putting the electronics down. However, technology is so thought consuming and time consuming that usually commitments are thrown out the window and forgotten about. If only that changed. I think one thing that people should do is really put down the phone. I think everyone misses so much when their face is down in a place that's not real life. If phone use was reduced, climate changes would improve! Then perhaps the outdoors and real life would be so much better than the world is now, and people would enjoy the outdoors and not even miss the electronics! This is something that can be said so simply and though so simply but done so hard and complex. One thing I am interested to find out is the changes one person can make to climate change and the environment by just reducing their carbon footprint.

This article is a good example of how climate change can affect technology as well. This article helps me understand now that even though technology can easily help us on the future of saving from using too much fossil fuels, but it can also make it worse.
I agree with you on this post. I also think that the outdoors would be a better place if simple objects like phones were put down. I would also like to know the exact number of energy and CO2 emissions we save when we do not use our phones and other everyday electronics. I think that this article is a good example of how the future in technology can make a world with higher pollution.
