Need bicycle streets to protect the environment for less pollution
For example, in New York they set up time limits for pedestrians to be able to ride bicycles around the city to have an enjoyable time or reach a destination.
I agree, i feel like there aren't many spaces for bicyclists on the road in all cities. Our other main focus should be creating these paved spaces that are safe so people are drawn more to bicycling without having to go on streets and thinking about hazards like being run over. By doing this, it will create more of a motivation for people to bike more instead of drive. Cars is another thing that creates a lot of smog that goes into our environment, so we should work hard on reducing citizen's car use. Cars seems almost as a necessity, but if people are going short distances, more people should be encouraged to bike instead. This will definitely improve the environment even if it is a little bit.
I agree in some aspect. Unfortunately, bikes may not be the best route to go because of the time it takes to go places. Sometimes, one may want to travel a great distance. Bike streets may be good in big cities but in small towns it may be more effective to ride in cars! Great idea!
This is a really good way to make sure bicyclists are safe during their commutes or daily rides. This could also encourage other people to ride their bikes to work, school, or friends' houses. This idea is very beneficial to the environment and could even be a quicker way to get around, especially in places as busy as New York.
I agree with you 100% that there should be streets dedicated to cyclist. An the best part is, places such as New York have already begun steps to reach this goal. In the recent year the city of New York has added a new form of Eco friendly transportation known as Citi-bike. Which is basically renting bicycles through out the city, which is really awesome!
I am agree with you because driving is one of the biggest causes of pollution.
This would be an excellent idea but it would be hard to regulate the entire city and make it safe enough for people to ride their bikes in the streets. It would be easier to use un-used areas to make space for bikes to have their own routes through the city that would occasionally cross a road. Then they could create a system like with crosswalks where you can ride your bike up onto a pressure pad that would act like a button which would have a timer for you to cross the street.
I actually like the idea of riding bicycles instead of using cars because not only are we helping the environment by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the air but we are also helping people get exercise and reducing the amount of obesity in america.
Every town should have a trail for cyclists because it lowers the traffic and makes the city eco friendly. It really bugs me that my own town doesn't posses such trails. Many cyclists are injured everyday because they are on the road. Bike trails would change that.
