Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

make cars that can run off water
i like your idea because gas is running out and when its gone how will be refuel our cars i like that idea
we should try to make them run off salt water cause of a small amount of fresh water
I think it would be a good idea if they run off water because it a more available resource.
It would be a good idea to use water as a fuel source for cars, but you have to think of whether they would run off of salt or freshwater, because salt water would be more readily available. Another thing to consider would be other environmental or economical issues that could come with a fully water-powered car.
I really like where you are all getting at. (:
But already tried it. In order to make a car run on water you must consider the energy source that will split the water molecules. As it requires more energy to split water molecules(fission), then to run an engine solely on electricity. The concept of a water powered car, is not based on water, but the hydrogen atoms (H2), in the the composition of water (H2O). In addition hydrogen gas is two times more reactive and explosive then conventional fuel such as gasoline.
Also at user "855770". To answer your question, you would have to use Salt water, because the salt works as a catalyst. Which speeds up the fission process in a device known as the "fuel cell" converter.
I really like the idea we should try that but would that cost more??
Yes, it would cost more money.
I don't agree with this idea unless the water we're using isn't freshwater. If we used salt water to power cars that could be beneficial since it makes up 97% of the Earth, but using freshwater to power cars would be more expensive and would take away a lot of the water available to us. Electric cars are a good way to go if you can get past the price of the car itself, or you can get past being seen in the car.
In my opinion cars running off of water isn't the best idea because then we could run out of useable water.

I don't agree with this idea. We would be solving one problem but then having to fix another one. Water is already an issue for some places. I honestly think the emission regulations are strict enough and continue to help make better conditions. Living proof is the fact that the hole in the ozone layer is rebuilding itself.
This idea sounds good on paper, but would never work. I am 100% sure that one day someone will invent this car, but no one will ever drive one unless they create it themselves. The car companies are in bed with big oil an gasoline; they would never put a water running engine in their car if they can profit off of a gas guzzling engine. Plus, so many people work in energy that literally millions of peoples jobs would be lost as a result to a loss of a dependency on oil. This change from gas to water would tank our economy.
I think that there are a lot of better solutions and they include hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, compressed-air vehicles, hydrogen and fuel-cell vehicles, neat ethanol vehicles, flexible-fuel vehicles, natural gas vehicles, clean diesel vehicles, and some sources also include vehicles using blends of biodiesel and ethanol fuel or gasohol. So we should turn to those resources. Hopefully that sums it up ![]()
