According to https://www.banthebottle.net/bottled-water-facts/ approximately 50 billion plastic water bottles are used per year and only 23% is recycled. Approximately 22 billion plastic bottles ended up in landfills and incinerators, which really effects the environment. Currently my family drinks out of only plastic bottles due to the fact that our pipes for our house are really old and sometimes the water turns yellow. We use 3-5 water bottles a day, I use 2-3 bottles myself a day but I fill up one bottle repetitively so it equals one bottle. I am trying to get my family to start using reusable water bottles to stop using so many bottles. My family thinks that it is fine that we use water bottles since we recycle them all but they do not think of what it takes to recycle them and to transport them. It will be easy to get them to use reusable water bottles since we have plenty at home and they already use them for coffee in the morning, but I want to transition into using water filter pitchers so that we will never have to use water bottles. If my family uses reusable  water bottles and filters my carbon footprint would go down 73kgs which may not seem a lot but I really does help the environment. I believe that everyone should make the change.
