Well, in my opinion technologhy is considered something common of the daily life, it have been helping the people to make easier and faster their work, but one of the main problems is that we have become dependent of it. That is why most of the people want to have the newest model of a cel phone, computer, or other type of machine. Most of the people think that it worth having the newest model even if it contminate or produce carbon dioxide that can harm our world. We should think sustainable, Im not saying that you can´t buy a new model, Im saying that you should buy the things you realy need. Today technology is a need but we should think how it harm us and decide if we need all the new models of a cel phone.

for me technology is a need sometimes, and sometimes a want.
maybe we all need a phone to comunicate, but we dont need to upgrade it every year if the phone is working perfectly, if you do so ten that is a want

i agree with rolandoha because maybe sometimes is a need and sometimes a want, but in this society is becoming a need because every day tech evolves

I'll agree with what Rolando and Ivan said, sometimes it's a need, but sometimes is a want. It depends on the case and for what you're going to use it.

I agree with Ivan, and Rolando also. In today's modern society we have created the need for technology while culture seems to have created the want. I find that sometimes it is necessary to use my cell phone but other times I become dependent on it and want the newest model because other people encourage it. I agree with Paulina in that we should try to be sustainable with technology and think of the environmental impact when wanting that new phone model.

Today technology is a need, mates, because there is very rarely a person or place that does not use technology. We use it for so many things now, it's amazing. Even in working fields they use technology. Things we use, however, like cell phones and ipads, are not that indispensable.

I agree but I also disagree with Natalia, a place without technology maybe its less innovative but is better for us, because we communicate more, we make many activities that do not include technology, sometimes we make exercise or games, and that is what we need to do. technology was invented with just one purpose, to make our lifes easier, it was created as a tool not as a way to distract ourselves from other activities or spending time with our families. technology has become a weapon that soon will end with us, and that is a compiracy theory, so we need to know how to use it

I agree with what Roland said, but we need to find ways in which people can understand that there's a point in which technology it ain't good, we need to make conscious people and to be aware of what can they have if they keep using technologies so much.

I agree on some level with Rolando.  However I feel that certain types of technologies are vital to the network society we have created.   For example, cars are pretty much necessary in order to be able to function in the modern world, in which highways and roads dominate the infrastructure of transportation.  However that doesn’t mean there aren’t alternatives that we could take advantage of instead, such as public transportation or investing in a car that burns clean fuel.  Other technologies, such as those created in the medical field, are vital to saving lives, and the advancement of human knowledge and scientific innovation.  In these respects I think technology is vital because it directly affects our functionality in society.  However, amenities like iPads and other recreational gadgets could be done without because they aren’t important to the quality of our lives.   I agree though that in today’s world there definitely is a lot of distraction from face-to-face socialization with social media networks that provide people with an easy way to plug in.  In this aspe ct, I can see how technology is deteriorating our society, but I feel that technology shouldn’t be scapegoated as a whole because a lot of it is actually necessary for our lives and benefits them in net positive ways.
