Is having the latest technology a want or a need?
How often do you get a new cel phone or mp3 player? Did you really need a new model? Do you consider the environmental impact of these purchases? If you are addicted, how can you break your addiction?

Driving - Want or Need?
I drive ten miles to and from school everyday, and I drive sixty miles three times a week for soccer practice. Often during these drives, I think to myself, "how much pollution am I causing, and are all of the drivers around me causing. I think about the big picture, how there are millions and millions of people driving places all over the world, increasing pollution by the second." So I think to myself, in what ways could we all reduce the amount that we drive. We should distinguish what drives are necessary and what are optional. For me, maybe I could carpool to school with friends or give underclassmen rides to school. In another instance, I could train for soccer on my own, go for a run, or play with a friend on a nearby field instead of driving 30 miles to and from practice. I think it is important for all of us who drive to consciously cut down on the miles we drive per day so that we can reduce pollution and emissions on our Earth.
I agree that we drive way too much. If people would carpool or go to closer places they will cause less pollution. I too play soccer and drive to soccer almost everyday of the week. I usually ride alone instead of having other people ride with me or ride with someone else. I also always drive to school alone, even though my mom works at my school. Your ideas are very good and we do need to reduce pollution, especially through driving.
I completely agree we drive too much! I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that our towns/cities are very spread out causing us to travel more each day. Carpooling is also a great way to cut down on the miles you drive each week. Keep up the great work!!
For this post I used this website: http://drivelesssavemore.com/carpooling-benefits in order to support my idea about carpooling and driving. This website has some great features and has a lot of ideas about how carpooling can help our society and eventually reduce pollution.
Hello everyone, I think that driving could be more a want than a need, because like you all have said, you drive to go to football games or to go out and chill out. But it also depends on the choice you make, I mean, you can decide if weather you're going walking, by car, or whatever you want, but my point is, It's more a need than a want.
