To this day, the whole entire world is based in material things and these things are the ones in part ruining the environment and producing a lot more pollution than before. If society can become responsible consumers, we would be doing our world a big favor because we wouldn't need so much production of the things that affect ourselves and the planet.

Yes, that is a good point. Nowadays, the world need us to change our habits immediately to survive. It is not possible to exist infinitely in a finite planet, therefore the only thing we could do is just to save more resources, such as turning off the faucet when we finish using it. As the largest part of consumers on Earth, we should take the responsibility of protecting it.
