Have you ever thought about what is want and what is need? In my opinion, wants is somethings that you wish to have, it can be a thing you desperately want but still you can live your life without it. Need is something people relied on to live, without that people might died.
So I don’t think having the latest technology is a need, because we can still communicate and accomplish works on some other none latest kind of technology. However, people will sometimes easily think of something as a need. Take the example of myself. When I was in summer holiday, I used to watch one movie per day and login to my we chat for about half an hour. If one day someone hide my computer and phone, I would try my best to find it as soon as possible, and I must be very frustrating and feel like it is the end of the world. For that case at that time I might assume my computer and cell phone as a need, but the truth is it is just a want, it just addicted to it.
