Phones and technology are mostly a want, for they are not essential to our survival. They can become a need for our safety, because they can let us contact people when we need help. Other then that, phones are mostly used for pleasure and fun communication with friends. To the average teenager, having a new model is "cool" and that is why they want it. Others use technology to play games, which is also a pleasure activity, not a necessity.

I agree with Ally. At certain times technology can be a need. Phones may be needed for an important phone call, computers may be needed for an important homework assignment, etc. However, getting the latest model of something, or using technology for video games, or non important things makes technology a want. Using technology as a pleasure makes it a want. Using technology for something important makes it a need.
