A new upgrade for any phone, in my opinion, is a want. You do not necessarily need an upgrade for your phone because as long as it still works and still makes calls, your needs should be satisfied. A normal phone is a need in my opinion when you reach a certain age. Around 14 is when you actually need a phone since most 14 year olds go out with friends and their parents need to know where they are.

I totally agree with you Xavier. As long as a phone is operable, there is no need for an upgrade. A phone is only a necessity in some cases. If people only used phones when they absolutely needed them, the worldwide carbon footprint would drastically be reduced. Technology is mostly a want, but if you absolutely need to use it, it is a need

I agree with you Xavier that at certain age you need a phone, but i also think its a want not a need to have a phone even for us like it get that our parents want to know where we are when we go out, but i feel that at one point its a want for a teenager to ask for a phone.

I agree with Xavier that we do need phones as we get older. Phones help keep people safe and in touch with their loved ones, especially when they are going out on their own. But, as Xavier said, having the newest model is definitely a want.

I agree with Xavier.  If your phone is capable of performing the required tasks then an upgrade is unnecessary.  I got my first phone when I was 12 and did not get a new one until I was 14.
